League MVP Stays Put At Bayelsa Utd

Last season’s Globacom Premier League Most Valuable Player (MVP), Chibuzor Okonkwo, has suddenly made a u-turn to stay back with champion, Bayelsa United.
Okonkwo told Naijaligue.blogspot.com on Tuesday that he is still a player of Bayelsa United after speculations had linked him with a possible move to rival, Heartland Football Club of Owerri, in the off-season.
But Okonkwo did not want to comment on his earlier planned move to Heartland FC.
“I am still with Bayelsa United,” he simply said.

Wolves Relocates To Warri Stadium December

Globacom Premier League side, Warri Wolves, is set to move into its original home ground by mid-December ahead of the estimation of the club’s management, Naijaligue.blogspot.com understands.
Wolves’ General Manager, Media, Timi Ebikagboro, told Naijaligue.blogspot.com that the relaying of the playing surface of the Warri Township Stadium is near completion and has projected that in about three weeks that the ground would be ready for use.
“The good news is that the Warri stadium would be ready for use. This means that in three weeks that Warri Wolves would relocate to Warri,” Ebikagboro disclosed on Tuesday afternoon in a telephone interview.
The Wolves’ official also informed that the management of the club, which would represent Nigeria in next year’s edition of the CAF Confederation Cup, would write officially to the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) on its relocation of its remaining home games in the Nigerian championship to the stadium.
Wolves has been playing its home games in the Premier League at the Oleh Township Stadium since last season when the Warri Township Stadium was closed for renovation due to the FIFA Under-17 World Cup that ended earlier this month in Nigeria.
The stadium failed to grab one of the nods from the world soccer governing body, FIFA, as host venue due to the poor turf of the mainbowl during one of the organisation’s inspection.
