Kano Pillars start life in Kaduna

Nigerian champions, Kano Pillars, will begin their banishment to Kaduna this Sunday where they will face Warri Wolves at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium.

Kano Pillars were ordered to play their remaining home games in this season's Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) away from their home ground, Sani Abacha Stadium by the League Management Company (LMC).

The Nigerian champions were banished after crowd trouble led to the abandonment of their Matchday 31 game against Enyimba at the Sani Abacha Stadium on September 11.

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the LMC, Salihu Abubakar, has told supersport.com that the appeal of Kano Pillars cannot alter their banishment to Kaduna.

"They will play their home games in Kaduna starting with the Warri Wolves match this weekend. I must correct an impression also that their appeal can't stop them from playing in Kaduna. Their appeal is contesting the replay of their match against Enyimba. If you'll recall, Kwara United are playing their home games behind closed doors in spite an appeal by Warri Wolves that stalled the replay of their earlier match that was inconclusive in Ilorin," Abubakar informed supersport.com.

Apart from the Wolves' game, Kano Pillars will also play hosts to Kwara United and Dolphins in their last two home games of this season at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna.
