Giwa FC look to stay in top flight

Owner of Giwa FC, Ambassador Chris Giwa, has told Naijaligue.blogspot.com that he will be happy to see his club keep their Glo Premier League status in their debut season.

Giwa is confident that his club can build on their first round performance in the 2013/14 season for the second round, which is expected to resume in July.

"So far it has been a good experience for us and by God's grace we are hoping to build on what we have been able to achieve in the first round of our first season in the Premier League. I'm happy with our position and I'm happy with the performance after the first round and by God's will we will hope to carry on from there.

"The team have been preparing for the second round and we are trusting God to take us through it. We don't expect an easy ride but we will allow the will of God to take precedence," said the Giwa FC boss philosophically to Naijaligue.blogspot.com.

On strengthening of the Jos club's squad for the second round, Giwa said the decision rests with the coaching crew.

"The issue of recruitment of players is squarely the decision of the coach. They are the technical people and they know who fits into their plans. We will be waiting for them to make their recommendation on that," said Giwa.

Giwa FC finished the first round of the 2013/14 Glo Premier League season in sixth position with 28 points and are just six points behind leaders, Kano Pillars.
