For Week 2, this is the biggest clash. Globacom Premier League champion, Bayelsa United, travels to Owerri to face last season’s runner-up, Heartland Football Club. Last season, Bayelsa United did farewell in this fixture though it did not have any effect in its position on the Premier League log. The titleholder lost by 0-2, although it picked a point in Owerri two seasons ago in a 1-1 draw. It would be recalled that Bayelsa United lost by a lone goal to Heartland FC in the Super Four just a month ago in Ilorin. Both sides are in fine vein of form on the back of reaching the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals. Definitely a difficult call, but the Naze Millionaires has enough quality to edge the champion.
