Naija Premier League Online Xmas Award Makes Debut

An innovative way of recognizing players in the Nigeria Premier League is up the cards by two of the country’s independent online news agency for the top-flight division.

The online news route for the Premier League in Nigeria, www.naijapremierleague.com and Naijaligue.blogspot.com, have agreed to partner for a Christmas award for top performers in the league.

The award is tagged ‘Naija Premier League Online Xmas Awards.’

However, the award would start off as an online version for now.

There would be nine categories up for grabs in the online awards for Premier League players and clubs.

The categories are Top Scorer, Most Valuable Player (MVP), Best Goalkeeper, Best Club, Best Coach, Best Newly Promoted Club, Best Rookie, Best Foreigner and Best Returnee.

Names of nominees for the various categories would be announced on December 23, 2009 while the winners would be announced on the eve of Christmas.
