Online Poll Tips Enyimba To Win Sixth Title

Five-time Premier League champion, Enyimba, has been tipped to win this season’s campaign by voters in a poll conducted by Naijaligue.blogspot.com.
The poll, which closed on Monday, has been ongoing in the past eight weeks on one of the biggest privately-owned Premier League web portals in Nigeria.
In total 123 persons voted for seven clubs considered to be in the running for the Premier League trophy by the web portal.
But it was the Peoples Elephant, which got the nod of more than half of the voters in an overwhelming win over rivals, Kano Pillars, Enugu Rangers, Bayelsa United, Kwara United, Sunshine Stars and Warri Wolves.
The two-time CAF Champions League winner polled 78 votes from the 123 posted on the website of Naija Ligue.
The votes amassed by Enyimba over the two months of voting process represent 63 per cent of the total number of voters, who believe that the league leader would win its sixth title on July 1 when the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) schedules the campaign to end.
Following in second place on the poll is former champion and last year’s semi-finalist in the CAF Champions League, Kano Pillars.
The northern giant is distant second after getting 29 votes that represent just 23 per cent of the total votes cast on Naijaligue.blogspot.com.
However, the Flying Antelopes, as Enugu Rangers is also known, finished in a further distant third position in the voting after garnering just nine votes.
The nine votes of Alphonsus Dike represent a miserly seven per cent while last season’s champion, Bayelsa United alongside Kwara United and Warri Wolves got two votes each as joint-fourth, which is just one per cent of the votes cast.
The seventh club in the online poll of the Premier League web portal, Sunshine Stars of Akure, got only a vote that represents zero per cent.
