Ahmed Musa To Join Dutch Club

The goal king of the Nigeria Premier League (NPL), Ahmed Musa, is set to join up with modest Dutch side, VVV Venlo, MTNFootball.com has scooped again.
The Kano Pillars’ winger, who netted a record 18 goals this past season, is expected to soon jet out to sign the dotted lines after he was assured of regular first-team action for the club simply referred to as VVV.
“He has agreed to join VVV Venlo. This was on account of the assurance that he has been guaranteed a first-team place at the club,” a top source close to the teenaged striker disclosed to MTNFootball.com.
Musa, who will celebrate his 18th birthday in October, would be a direct replacement for 28-year-old Ruben Schaken who has left for Feyenoord on a free transfer.
His move to VVV will thus cool off the interest of several of Europe’s top clubs like Olympiakos, Ajax Amsterdam and Barcelona.
VVV was the first Dutch club of former Nigeria international star, Tijjani Babangida.
“It could turn out to be a great move because he is a very good player, but he has to redouble his efforts playing for a small club like VVV so as to the attract the attention of bigger clubs like Ajax,” Babangida told MTNFootball.com.
“If he is free of injury, keeps up his form and has a good mentality, he will be a big hit in Europe in the next two, three years.”
Japan standout star at the 2010 World Cup, Keisuke Honda, began his career in Europe at this club before he was snatched by CSKA Moscow last year.
The club, who placed 12th this past term, already has two other Nigerians on its books, former youth internationals, Alex Nkume and Michael Uchebo.

Crown, Bukola, JUTH Win Premier League Slots

Three clubs have so far gained promotion to the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) after the last round of matches were played at the weekend.
Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) Football Club even with one game to go has qualified from Group A of the National Division I League while Crown Football Club of Ogbomosho and Bukola Babes will play in the elite division from Group B.
Crown FC on Sunday defeated First Bank of Lagos at home to garner 57 points, as Bukola Babes recorded an away victory over Prime Football Club of Oshogbo with a 2 – 1 triumph to place second with 55 points.
Crown will play its last game of the season against Delta Force in Ogwashi Uku as Bukola play host to Anambra Pillars in Ilorin.
Team Manager of Bukola Babes, Alloy Chukwuemeka, told the NPL’s official website that it is a dream come true for the young team.
“I am so happy today because we have met our expectations. At the beginning of the season, we gave ourselves a target and we have just achieved that with the    victory over Prime in Oshogbo.
“We are going to prepare very well for the Premier League because we don’t want to be counted as one of the teams just taking part in the Premier League,” Chukwuemeka said.
With JUTH of Jos already through to the Premier League, Mighty Jets, Plateau United and Babanawa will wait till the last day before they know who will join the Jos team to play in the Premier League.
