3SC agree to excuse Salami

There are Indications that Under23 national team striker, Gbolahan Salami, may have been left out of the remaining games of 3SC in the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) this season.

A top official of the club disclosed to SuperSport.com on Tuesday afternoon that 3SC have entered into an agreement with the player's representative to allow him stay away from their next league games.

"I don't think Gbolahan will be playing for 3SC again this season from the look of things. His agent said he doesn't want the player to suffer an injury since he is bound to join a foreign club soon," the official said.

Salami is reported to have agreed to join South African side, Mamelodi Sundowns.

But the official, who preferred not to be mentioned, said he is in the dark as to the player's destination.

"I don't know which club the agent is taking him to. But if he signs at least 3SC will have a percentage of whatever amount comes off the deal. So that's why he is being left out of our games," SuperSport.com was informed.

Salami has already missed the last three games of his club against Kaduna United, Warri Wolves and Niger Tornadoes.

Last week when our correspondent spoke to the former Under20 forward, he claimed to have contracted malaria.

3SC have just six games to play in this term's campaign.

Fatai Amoo's men are in 15th position on the log with 37 points and four points adrift the drop zone.
