With hostilities due to resume in the top flight of Nigerian league next week after a three-week break following the Under-17 World Cup, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) would have the services of its injured defender, Daniel Osoata.
The former Crown Football Club of Ogbomosho and Sunshine Stars of Akure player returned to the pitch and played for his club last Thursday against Gateway Football Club of Abeokuta in a warm-up game.
He sustained an ankle injury during the pre-season camp of the club in Eruwa town and was sidelined for three months.
Osoata played the entire duration of last Thursday’s friendly match against Gateway FC, which was also used to honour late ex-Nigeria international, Best Ogedegbe, at the Liberty Stadium in Ibadan.
Speaking to Naijaligue.blogspot.com after the match that ended goalless, Osoata thanked God for quick recovery and promise to help his team’s course in the Globacom Premier League in this season’s campaign.
“I really thank God for the quick recovery; this is my first time in 3SC where I would be sidelined due to injury. I promise my fans and 3SC supporters that this season will be fine as we are ready for our continental ticket aspiration,” he told Naijaligue.blogspot.com.
Shootings Stars secured the signing of its former feeder’s team player from Crown FC in March and he went on to produce seven assists for the club.
Part of his assist was the goal scored against Kolu United in Orlu by Olamide Lateef Adigun.
