Nigeria Premier League strugglers, 3SC, have told their head coach, Festus Allen (pictured) to step down following a series of poor results this season, SuperSport.com can report.
A club source informed on Monday that the 3SC manager was handed the letter on Sunday night after the club’s 0 – 2 loss to Kaduna United in a Week 16 game.
The loss at Kaduna United was the third defeat on the bounce suffered by the Oluyole Warriors under Allen after losses at Kano Pillars and Heartland.
However, SuperSport.com was informed that the letter handed to Allen was backdated though our source could not confirm the actual date on the document.
It was further learned that the decision to suspend the coach had been discussed during one of the club’s management meetings last week.
Allen told SuperSport.com that he was officially notified to step down from his post pending when a full appraisal is conducted into the team’s performance under his time.
The former ABS FC coach added that he has accepted the suspension “in good fate.”
“No I have no hard feelings because I accept this in good fate. This is what happens on the job as I will not be the first or last coach to be told to step down. For now, I will just take a break and hopefully wait for what happens after I have been told to step down,” the coach told SuperSport.com on Monday while he was leaving Kaduna.
Allen’s assistants, Tunde ‘Zico’ Odubola and Hakeem Busari have been given the nod to take charge of the team in interim capacity.
3SC are currently in the bottom four of the NPL standings with 17 points.
