ABS
will be without striker Ajibola Otegbeye (pictured) for their Federation Cup round of 32
clash against Bayelsa United on Wednesday.
Otegbeye
will miss the match at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City as he is now
Cup-tied.
The
striker joined ABS from city rivals, Kwara United, during the transfer window
of Week Nine in the Glo Nigeria Premier League this season.
At
that time, Otegbeye had already played for Kwara United in the Kwara State
Federation Cup final against ABS which rules him out of this week's Cup game.
The
striker told supersport.com about his pain of missing out of the round of 32
but trusts his teammates to get the job done against Bayelsa United.
Otegbeye
is confident that his teammates can re-enact the 2-0 win in the league over
Bayelsa United in April.
"As
a player I want to play in every game for my club and that includes the
Federation Cup. Unfortunately I can't play and that's quite painful for me. But
I know we can beat them even without me. We've beaten them this season and
that's an advantage for us," said Otegbeye.
Fifteen
other matches will hold this week in the Federation Cup.
