Sharks Was Unfortunate Last Season - Ezeji

Sharks Football Club striker, Victor Ezeji, has described the out gone season of the Premier League as an unfortunate outing after the side missed out from picking a continental ticket.
The Port Harcourt club finished a disappointing ninth on the final stand of the Premier League table for the 2008/2009 season.
But Ezeji was quick to claim that certain factors militated against Sharks FC performing at its optimum in the previous season.
“It was not such a good season for us. We were unfortunate last season. Missing out of the continental ticket was not such a good thing for us. We gave our best but due to certain developments such as injuries that our key players suffered during crucial part of the season, we failed in our bid to win a continental ticket,” he said.
The former Dolphins Football Club and Enyimba man has since shifted his attention to the FA Cup (now the Federation Cup).
The 28-year-old forward continued that after the lone goal win over Premier League champion, Bayelsa United, in its opening group game of the ongoing Federation Cup that Sharks FC can go on to win the cup.
“Now we are focused on the FA Cup after all the troubles in the league. We started well by defeating Bayelsa United. They are the best side in the Premier League in the just-concluded season and to have defeated them tells you that we have quality in the side,” he quipped.
