NFF Cancels Jos Derby Over Jets’ Debt

The much-anticipated Jos derby in the Nigeria National League (NNL) also known as the Division I League between Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) Football Club and Mighty Jets has been put on hold.
Mighty Jets is one of the eight clubs in the lower division that is yet to settle its registration fees and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) through the NNL had to clamp down on the club for failing to pay its dues.
This development, Naijaligue.blogspot.com understands, is that the Jos derby scheduled for Sunday would no longer hold.
The NFF has since suspended Mighty Jets from the Division I League until it offsets its debt.
JUTH FC spokesman, Olusola Alao, confirmed to Naijaligue.blogspot.com: “We just received a message from the league board at the NFF that our match with Mighty Jets has been postponed till further notice because Jets has some financial issues to clear with the league board.”

  1. Good to see the fed finally tackling this issue. Hopefully they'll keep it up.
