Ocean Boys Within Leader’s Reach – Amuneke

After watching his side battle to snatch a late minute equalizer to Add enclosure linkearn a point in Gusau in a Week 10 game against Zamfara United, Ocean Boys’ head coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, believes his side is within touching distance with Premier League leader, Warri Wolves.
The former coach of National Division I League side, Julius Berger Football Club, watched at some point in the game when his side conceded an 80th – minute goal after Chimezie Mba scored an own goal to give Zamfara United the lead.
However, Emmanuel Enize struck the equalizer late in the game to hand Amuneke’s men a share of the spoils in Gusau.
The former Nigeria international was impressed with the outcome of the game and told Naijaligue.blogspot.com that the point was a deserved one since it was a difficult encounter.
But Amuneke has taken a look at the Premier League log and is confident that Ocean Boys is not far from the new league leader, Warri Wolves, despite occupying eighth place.
Ocean Boys is also five points behind Warri Wolves.
The coach, who turns 39 on Christmas Day, further made it clear that the Bayelsa State-based club is ready to compete for a top three finish.
“We are doing well at the moment. In the past weeks, we have stayed close to the teams leading on the Premier League and we have done the same this week again. Taking a point from Zamfara United is something we are proud of though a win would have put us in a better position on the table. We are just five points behind the leaders. So it means we are in a good position,” Amuneke told Naijaligue.blogspot.com.

But the former FC Barcelona winger is not carried away by his side’s position on the Premier League log.
