After successfully starting off with the Naija Premier League Xmas Online Award last month, two of the country’s independent news agencies for the Premier League has concluded plans to arrange a monthly award.
Naijaligue.blogspot.com and Naijapremierleague.com have decided to partner in organizing a monthly online award for the Premier League in which they would reward the best manager and best player of each month remaining till the end of the season.
CEO of Naijapremierleague.com, Aikhoje Ojeikere, explained that the process of awarding the managers and players on a monthly basis would be determined by a team of analysts from both online news agencies.
Ojeikere further said that the monthly award would be online like that of the Xmas edition.
“The Naija Premier League Xmas Online Award was a huge success even though it was online. Now we have decided to take it to another step by organizing a monthly award for the best manager and best player of every month till the season ends. For now, the awards would be online just like the Xmas award,” Ojeikere said.
Ojeikere also said the award would begin from January 2010 and would be remain part of the calendar of the two websites.
However, the naming of the best manager and best player for each of the month would be done in the first week of the following month.
The chief executive also opened up that the two independent Premier League websites would end the season with an online end-of-the-season award in which all players and officials would be assessed based on their performances.
