Agba Seals Three-year Deal With Sfaxien

Heartland Football Club attacking midfielder, Uchenna Agba, has finally complete his move to Tunisian club, Club Sportive Sfaxien, Naijaligue.blogspot.com understands.
After playing in a number of trial games for CS Sfaxien for more than two weeks, Agba impressed the officials of the Tunisian side and was immediately offered a straight contract by the club.
But the player’s move from Nigeria Premier League side, Heartland FC, was held up for a few days since Agba was yet to be cleared by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), as his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) was still being processed.
Naijaligue.blogspot.com also understands that the player was back in the country last week to secure his transfer from his former employer, the Naze Millionaires.
Agba left the shores of the country over the weekend to join his new club and when our correspondent spoke to him, he promised to lift the lead on his deal with the Tunisian club once he settles down in the North African country.
“My brother don’t worry when I get there (in Tunisia) I will reach you and tell you more. For now let me just settle down,” the skilful midfielder said in an interview last week.
Just this month, Agba was nominated in the African Player of the Year award for players based on the continent alongside Tout Puissant Mazembe’s captain, Tresor Mputu and Abdelmalek Ziaya of Algeria, who plays for Entente Setif.
The hard working left-footed attacking midfielder is excited with his nomination, which has further boosted his profile as one of the top players on the continent of Africa.
Agba, who featured for Heartland in the 2009 CAF Champions League for 270 minutes and single-handedly masterminded the fall of Kano Pillars in the semi-finals in which he scored twice, believes that the recognition came at the appropriate time, as he polished his move to CS Sfaxien.
“It is a good way of being recognized. It means that there are people who do watch the game closely and know players, who contribute a lot while on the pitch. I am happy for that,” he simply said.
