Sunshine Stars Visits Family Of Late Ref

The management of the club showed concern over the death of referee Yad Yabilsu, who died in a motor accident about two weeks ago after taking charge of the game between Warri Wolves and Sunshine Stars.
The contingent of the Akure-based club was led by its Executive Director, Administration, Mike Idoko, a statement sent to Naijaligue.blogspot.com revealed.
The burial ceremony took place in Bauchi after which Idoko and his entourage paid a condolence visit to the family of the deceased.
Apart from taking part in the burial ceremony, Sunshine Stars also made a financial donation of N100,000 to the family of Yabilsu.
Idoko lamented the death of referee Yabilsu at a time the league needed his services more.
"We condole with the family of late referee Yabilsu over the unfortunate and untimely death of their breadwinner at a time the league needs his services most. We also condole with all the referees, particularly the Nigeria Referees Association (NRA) and his family. It's a pity he died at this time but we should take solace that he's resting at the bossom of the Lord," he said.
The Executive Director, however, assured the family and the referees that he would use his position as a board member of the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) to lobby for insurance package for Premier League referees.
