After rising from its executive meeting on Tuesday, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has approved the nullification of the election of Davidson Owumi as Nigeria Premier League (NPL) chairman.
The federation’s first vice president, Amanze Uchegbulam, who read the communiqué issued at the end of the meeting stated that the federation is bent on sanitising the game in the country by ensuring that due processes are followed in the election of officials into public office.
The NFF board has endorsed the verdict of the report of the arbitration panel led by Professor Ibidapo Obe, which last week sacked Owumi.
The NFF has directed the Nigeria Premier League to comply with the ruling.
Clubs in the Premier League have pledged their support for the troubled Premier League chief in the wake of the battle for the chairmanship stool.
