NPL To Decide Wikki – Bayelsa Game

The Nigeria Premier League (NPL) would soon take a decision on the abandoned game between Wikki Tourists of Bauchi and champion, Bayelsa United.
The match, which was played last Saturday, was tied on 1 – 1 when the Yenagoa side abandoned the game because it complained that the referee gave a penalty that was not justified.
The official website of the Premier League, www.npl.com.ng, learnt that the league body is not happy with the turn of events where clubs deliberately abandon matches because they think they can get judgment somewhere else.
This is the second time the match would be rescheduled because it was not played on the original date.
This time, it was abandoned and since there is no provision for any match in the season to be played the third time, NPL will take its decision based on the reports from the match commissioner and centre referee.
And there is no provision for the game to be replayed.
Enyimba and Heartland are the other teams that have abandoned games this season.
Wikki Tourists and Bayelsa United are battling relegation.
