The Nigeria Premier League (NPL) will clamp down heavily on clubs indebted to their playing and coaching personnel ahead of the coming season.
This is the warning issued out by the chairman of the Premier League, Davidson Owumi, on Thursday to debtor clubs.
The league board in line with the new vision has directed that all verifiable debts owed officials and players to be settled as a pre-condition for registration of clubs for the 2010/2011 league season.
Owumi in a statement emphasised that ‘’clubs that fail to comply with this directive shall not be allowed to participate in the league.”
He further maintained that all clubs are enjoined to ensure that this directive is given the desired attention to avoid any embarrassment during the registration exercise.
