Bosso escapes sack at Niger Tornadoes

Nigeria Premier League side, Niger Tornadoes, has decided to shelve plans to sack its head coach, Ladan Bosso, after a management meeting held on Saturday, SuperSport.com understands.
Officials of the club met on Saturday in Minna to deliberate on the performance of the 44-year-old coach last season in which Niger Tornadoes finished in seventh place and 15 points behind champions, Enyimba.
Bosso had come under fire at Tornadoes following a one-nil loss at home to Ocean Boys, which led to an inquest by the club management.
But after Saturday’s meeting, Bosso retains his place as head coach of Tornadoes and spokesman of the club, John Adams, confirmed this to SuperSport.com.
“He will still be our coach for the coming season,” began Adams. “Our pre-season activities will also get underway this week since he is still in charge and we will be recruiting and placing a number of players on the transfer market.”
SuperSport.com learnt that the plans to sack Bosso may have been jettisoned after an attempt to sign on coach Samson Unuanel from Enyimba fell through.
Unuanel instead decided to join Kwara United in the off-season transfer window.
