Awe, others on Dolphin’s radar

Five players from different Nigeria Premier League (NPL) clubs are currently training with Dolphin Football Club and could be signed from their teams before the start of the season.
The players currently training at the Liberation Stadium with Dolphin are Kola Awe (Bayelsa United), Edward Weng (Kwara United), Johnson Olewezi (Kwara United), Obinna (Zamfara United) and Uche Okaro (Gateway Football Club).
Bayelsa United centre-back, Awe, is said to be most keen among the five to join Dolphin before the start of the season.
“Kola Awe has been with us for a while ahead of others. He has shown so much in training and I believe his heart is with Dolphin now. But like the other players, there has been no discussion with him or his club,” SuperSport.com was informed.
But no discussion has been held with the quintet or their clubs by the management of Dolphin.
However, it is understood that Dolphin is threading softly in holding talks with the players or their former clubs since they are cash-strapped in offering contracts to new players.
The Port Harcourt-based side is also indebted to players on their payroll accruing from contract fees.
