Nigeria Premier League (NPL) side, Enugu Rangers, have signed up two teenage players from modest city rivals, Internazionale Enugu, ahead of the coming campaign.
The players signed this month from Inter Enugu by the Flying Antelopes are goalkeeper Chinedu Udeh and midfielder Christian Eze.
The duo has been training with the club since loan deals were completed with their club president, Nna Francis Yawe.
Flying Antelopes’ head coach, Alphonsus Dike, has expressed satisfaction with the performance of Udeh, 19 and Eze, 17 since they teamed up with the side for the new Premier League season that kicks off on October 23.
“I am impressed with what I have seen from them. I believe that their addition to the team will improve our fortune in the coming season, as it will aid competition for places and bring about commitment from every player,” he told SuperSport.com.
Goalkeeper Udeh is highly regarded for his quality to cut off crosses especially considering his intimidating height.
The 6 ft 4 goalie is also adept in one-on-one situation during open play.
However, his Inter Enugu teammate, Eze, is skilful, pacy and energetic, and very useful in setting up counter-attacks against opposition.
