Our predictor got SIX of the 10 matches of last weekend correct including TWO exact scores.
Bukola Babes 1 Enyimba 0
Champions, Enyimba, were stunned last Saturday in Offa by newcomers. Bookmakers had tipped the six-time Premier League winners to take this game but it was the newcomers that won the game through Audu Akeem’s 76th minute goal. The loss leaves Enyimba in 10th position and three points behind leaders, Dolphin, while the Babes are 17th.
Our prediction: 0 – 0
Dolphin 3 Gombe United 0
Dolphin Football Club showed why many league followers believe that they sold out in the Port Harcourt derby with a backlash against Gombe United. Under20 star, Abduljeleel Ajagun, put them in front and two spot kicks converted by captain Emma Godwin and Uche Oguchi ended Gombe’s unbeaten start to the campaign.
Our prediction: 1 – 0
Juth FC 0 Warri Wolves 1
Warri Wolves continue their unbeaten start to the season with their first away win in two seasons at Jos University Teaching Hospital (Juth) Football Club. In spite of complaints by Juth that they deserved to have got three penalties, it was Onyekachi Nelson’s 30th minute goal that made the difference to leave our predictor in the wrong end of forecast.
Our prediction: 1 – 1
Kano Pillars 1 Shooting Stars 0
We are sure that Shooting Stars’ fan will not be happy with our predictor for getting this spot-on. On 28 minutes, Joseph Atang Thompson secured all points for Kano Pillars after leaving Shooting Stars’ defence all over the place. This game would have provided more than a goal but thanks to the sharp reflexes of Laide Okanlawon of Shooting Stars.
Prediction: 1 – 0
Crown FC 1 Kwara United 0
Another big team were gunned down at the weekend in Ilaro after Crown Football Club defeated Kadiri Ikhana’s Kwara United by a lone goal. Ayoola Moses’ early goal was enough to make sure that Crown FC are the only promoted side that remain outside relegation position after the round of four games.
Our prediction: 2 – 1
Heartland 2 Kaduna United 1
Osas Okoro and Ikechukwu Ibenegbu made sure that our predictor got the exact score of this game with goals for Heartland inside the last 10 minutes after Siman Yusuf had put Kaduna United in front just four minutes past the hour mark. Heartland climb into fifth position on the log and two points behind the pacesetters.
Our prediction: 2 – 1
Zamfara Utd 3 Plateau United 2
This was the classic game of Week 4. Plateau United got cruising as early as 23 minutes through goals from Kelly Paul and George Akpabio. But Zamfara United staged a stunning comeback with two goals inside five minutes by Peter Bako and Lucas Wayo. The hearts of Plateau’s travelling contingent was broken on 64 minutes when Obasesam Enite popped up to toe Zamfara United in front, which ended up being the winner.
Our prediction: 1 – 0
Sunshine Stars 2 Enugu Rangers 0
It is looking like Rangers’ 26-year wait for a first domestic title could continue after they surrendered once again away from home in the league. Ukeyima Akombo and Ifeanyi Inyam got a goal in each half for Gbenga Ogunbote’s men to bring down the Flying Antelopes to earth after their Week 3 goal-rush against Ocean Boys in Enugu.
Our prediction: 3 – 2
Ocean Boys 1 Sharks 1
With virtue of this 1 – 1 draw at Ocean Boys, the Blue Angels remain in the top 10 of the league. Bright Ejike made sure that Sharks returned to Port Harcourt with a point by cancelling out Andrew Michael’s 13th minute strike. Sharks are also the other unbeaten side in the league apart from Wolves. But the Boys are still rooted in the drop zone and their poor home run continues in the top-flight to the disappointment of their faithful.
Our prediction: 1 – 2
Lobi Stars 2 Niger Tornadoes 1
Lobi Stars grabbed their first win of the season and leaves Samson Unuanel suffering his first defeat in charge of Niger Tornadoes. It was a ding-dong game with Tony Okpoto putting Lobi in front on 19 minutes before Emmanuel Osita drew Tornadoes level two minutes before half time. But Victor Barnabas scored his second goal of the season to seal all points for Lobi at the Jolly Nyame Stadium in Jalingo.
Our prediction: 0 – 0
