Bukola Babes will survive drop – coach

Head coach of Bukola Babes, Festus Allen, has made a bold statement that his team will retain their topflight status at the end of the season.
After edging Gombe United 3 – 2 in a Week 8 game to climb out of the drop zone before the end of 2010, Allen believes that the feat posits a good omen for his men.
“It is good that we are not in the relegation zone till the end of the year. It gives us and our fans something to celebrate being our first season in the Premier League. But we know that we still have a lot of work to do. We need to fight till the end of the season to keep our place in the Premier League,” he said.
Bukola Babes are in 14th position on the log after garnering 10 points from eight games and are just one point above the relegation spots.
Allen is, however, unsatisfied with that return from his men and is bullish that they can rack up more points when the league resumes on New Year’s Day.
The Premier League newcomers are billed to face Niger Tornadoes on January 1 at the Kaduna Township Stadium and Allen is relishing taking points from the game.
“We are prepared for that game and hopefully we can come out with a good result against Niger Tornadoes. They are a good side and we have respect for them because they have been in the Premier League for a number of seasons but we are not afraid to match them.
“We are also confident that of improving on our results in the New Year as well so that we can remain in the Premier League at the end of the season,” Allen told SuperSport.com.
