In spite of struggling against one of the best sides in the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) last Saturday, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) believe they can finish among the top four sides this season.
Head coach of the club, Fatai Amoo, disclosed that his side are prepared for the rough ride in the top-flight after suffering their first defeat in the NPL to Kano Pillars at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano in a Week 4 game.
Amoo is confident that despite being faced with another tough trip to Enyimba for a Week 5 clash on Sunday, the club can finish among the top four.
The Shooting Stars coach also said he has his eyes on the Enyimba game billed to hold in Aba this weekend.
“We can finish among the top four I believe and even higher than that. We have started well this season though we lost to Kano Pillars unfortunately.
“Our approach to the game against Enyimba will be different, and we will in our usual style go out and attack,” he said.
Last season, Shooting Stars finished 11th on the log and 18 points behind champions, Enyimba though Amoo joined the side almost close to the end of the season to save the club from dropping to the lower division.
Amoo, a former coach of Sunshine Stars, said the Oluyole Warriors will bridge the gap between them and the likes of Enyimba and Kano Pillars this term.
