The duo of Sani Aruwa (pictured) and Siman Yusuf will not take part in the Week 16 match involving their team, Kaduna United and Sharks Football Club in Port Harcourt on Saturday.
Assistant coach of Kaduna United, Abdullahi Heyman, told SuperSport.com that Aruwa and Siman have been excused by the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) due to the call up they received to join the country’s under23 national team handled by Austin Eguavoen.
“Sani (Aruwa) and Siman (Yusuf) will not play for us this Saturday when we go to Sharks. This is because they are now with the under23 national team in Abuja. No doubt, they are two of our important players that we will miss. But I can assure you that we will do well without them especially when you consider that we have always done well when we play before live television.” declared Heyman.
Heyman added that Kaduna United will be aiming for a win at the Sharks Stadium in Port Harcourt in spite of knowing that his side collapsed by 0 – 4 as at half time before losing 0 – 5 in this same fixture.
The Kaduna United coach is optimistic that his side is capable of maintaining their top five spot on the log after the game against the Blue Angels.
“I am confident that this team can do well in Port Harcourt. We might have lost five – nil last year in this same game I don’t think that will happen again,” he said.
The Crocodiles go into this game with a poor record on the road against Sharks having lost all three previous visits to Port Harcourt dating back to June 7, 2006 when they lost by 1 – 2.
