Nigeria wrap for Week 11

Last weekend’s games produced a total of 20 goals and eight wins including an away victory for the leaders, Dolphins. Our predictor was able to get SIX correct scores including TWO exact results.

Juth FC 1 – 3 Dolphins
As predicted, Jos University Teaching Hospital (Juth) fell to Dolphins but the scoreline took many followers aback. Before the 75th minute of the game, Dolphins had made the tie look like a no-contest with goals from Victor Michael, Aaron Samuel and Owusu Addae. Juth could only muster a late goal from Bright Silas to the disappointment of coach Emmanuel Deutsch on his debut game. Juth are still at the base of the log while Dolphins now hold a seven-point lead over the chasing pack.
Our prediction: 0 – 1

Niger Tornadoes 1 – 0 Enyimba
Niger Tornadoes continue their impressive defensive record at home (of not conceding this term). The Peoples Elephant slipped down the table to eighth place after Darlington Ihejiene’s goal on 20 minutes gave Tornadoes all points. In spite of the win, Tornadoes still hover just above the drop zone though five points clear.
Our prediction: 2 – 0

Kwara United 3 – 0 Zamfara United
Nojeem Raji, Kabiru Sanusi and Barnabas Imenger were the goal scorers for Kwara United, who started the rout of Zamfara United from the first minute of the game. Kadiri Ikhana’s men followed up with their win on the road at Gombe United in Week 18 by spanking Zamfara. Kwara United now have 29 points in seventh place while Zamfara are 18th with 15 points.
Our prediction: 3 – 0

Sharks 1 – 1 Enugu Rangers
The Blue Angels were caught unawares by Rangers, as Mine Ojo smashed home the opener inside 11 minutes. It took Sharks just nine minutes to respond. But all attempts by the Blue Angels to get their ninth win of the season did not materialise, as Rangers defended in numbers. Sharks are in sixth position while the Flying Antelopes are ninth.
Our prediction: 1 – 0

Gombe United 1 – 0 Plateau United
It was a MacMarcel Obioha goal from the spot that broke Plateau United’s resistant at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi. Little talking point from this game, as Gombe United grabbed their first win since New Year’s Day to end an eight-game streak without winning a match. Gombe are 16th and six points above the drop zone while Plateau United are 19th.
Our prediction: 1 – 0

Warri Wolves 1 – 0 3SC
In spite of the industry and organisation of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) they came out scathed. 3SC are 14th and seven points above the relegation line after Gift Atulewa’s penalty handed Wolves the maximum points. Paul Aigbogun’s men climb back to third place on the log and have 32 points.
Our prediction: 2 – 0

Kaduna United 1 – 0 Bukola Babes
The Babes suffered their sixth loss of the campaign and they feel a little hard done by Samson Auta’s goal on 61 minutes from the penalty spot. Bukola Babes dropped from third to fourth with 30 points while Kaduna United climbed to fifth with same points as the Babes.
Prediction: 1 – 1

Crown FC 1 – 1 Sunshine Stars
Before this game, pundits had handed it to Sunshine Stars but Crown Football Club put up a good fight to claim one point. Ajani Ibrahim continued with his scoring form this season by netting on 27 minutes but the title-chasers were stunned within a minute, as John Fayoseh got Crown’s goal. But Crown still remain in relegation and fourth from bottom while Sunshine Stars are seven points behind leaders, Dolphins.
Prediction: 1 – 2

Heartland 4 – 0 Ocean Boys
It was day of annihilation for 2006 champions, Ocean Boys, in Owerri as Heartland showed no mercy at the Dan Anyiam Stadium. The Naze Millionaires overran their opponents by four goals from Benjamin Francis, Bello Kofarmata and a double from Ikechukwu Ibenegbu to climb to 11th position while Ocean Boys fell to 13th.
Prediction: 1 – 0

Lobi Stars 1 – 0 Kano Pillars
Seriki Audu’s late goal in the game against Kano Pillars ensured that the Makurdi-based club got their eighth win of the season to climb into third position. The loss leaves Ladan Bosso’s Kano Pillars out of the top half of the table though with an outstanding game to play.
Prediction: 1 – 1
