Pillars shut door on new signings

Former Nigeria Premier League (NPL) champions, Kano Pillars, have stated that it is unlikely that they will be entering into the transfer market in this mid-season window to shop for new players.
Chairman of Kano Pillars Technical Committee, Dr Musa Garba, made the declaration after the club’s contingent arrived from Casablanca where they lost to Wydad by two-nil in the first leg, first round of the Orange Caf Champions League.
The club official explained that Kano Pillars are not considering signing new players at the moment, as they recruited 35 players.
He further explained that the Nigerian representatives in the Orange Caf Champions League this year decided to recruit 35 players since they will also compete in the Premier League and the FA Cup.
“We signed 35 players at the start of the season and some of them were registered to play in the Caf Champions League while others will play in the domestic competitions. So we do not see any immediate need to sign players in the current transfer window,” said Dr Garba.
But SuperSport.com learned that head coach of the club, Ladan Bosso, will not mind bringing in a striker to fortify his attacking line.
Already Bosso is said to be an admirer of Juth’s Ghanaian striker, James Amankwei.
