Allen confident ahead Plateau's visit

Bukola Babes head coach, Festus Allen, has said he is self-confident that his team will beat Plateau United when both sides face each other in a Week 25 Premier League game on Sunday.

The 48-year-old coach told SuperSport.com that in spite of his side's poor form guide of having won just once in their last five games, Bukola Babes have the quality to beat Plateau United at the Ilorin Stadium.

"Lately we have not been doing well. Our form has dipped but that is not to say we will not beat Plateau United. This is a game we cannot afford to throw away as three points will be good for us," Allen said.

Allen, who rose from the role of an assistant to head coach at Bukola Babes, added that he is not under pressure in the wake of a three-match ultimatum handed to him by the club management.

"I'm not under pressure at all. I'm focused on getting results for the club. I will say my team has been unfortunate not to win some of the games we have lost recently. We have been playing well but we have been unlucky most times not to score and win our games," said the former Ranch Bees assistant coach.

However, he is hoping that a win over Plateau United this Sunday will kickstart another impressive run as witnessed earlier this year when Bukola Babes went on an eight-game unbeaten streak before Dolphins ended it.

"I believe we can start another fine run by beating Plateau United. We did it this season and I believe we can do it again," he told SuperSport.com.

Allen’s men lost the first meeting against Plateau United at the Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos by a lone goal.
