Cameroonian breaks into Team of Week

Sunshine Stars' Cameroon midfielder, Medrano Tamen (pictured in front), became the first player from his country to be named in the Team of the Week for Matchday 29 in the Nigeria Premier League (NPL).

The box-to-box Cameroonian midfielder has proven to be a good buy for Sunshine Stars since he signed on from Tiko United in March this year.

Tamen proved his worth with his sublime performance in the middle against Kaduna United on Sunday and finished it off with a fine goal.

The NPL also announced Justin Tenger of Niger Tornadoes as coach of the week to take charge of a side with a 4-4-2 formation.
Veteran goalkeeper Uche Akubuike makes the cut from Gombe United and will get defensive cover from Abass Rotimi (Zamfara United), Godfrey Oboabona (Sunshine Stars), Umar Zango (Lobi Stars) and Solomon Yahaya (Kwara United).

The trio of Madu Chiamaka (Ocean Boys), Stephen Adah (Enugu Rangers) and Daniel Etor (Niger Tornadoes) joins Tamen as midfielders.

Upfront, Tony Okpotu (Lobi Stars) and Ukeyima Akombo (Sunshine Stars) get nod of the NPL as best striking partners for Week 29.
