Heartland right-back, Chibuzor Okonkwo (pictured), is currently on trials at modest Ukraine Premier League outfit, FC Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih, Naijaligue.blogspot.com understands.
The 22-year-old has been with the Ukrainian side since last week under the assessment of FC Kryvbas head coach, Yuriy Maksymov.
As a result of this, the Nigeria international missed his side’s 2 – 1 triumph in the Federation Cup over Bayelsa United at the weekend.
He has reportedly impressed Maksymov and could seal a contract barring any last-minute hitch.
“Chibuzor Okonkwo is at present on trials in the Ukraine. As far as I know he's been with them since last week,” a close confidant of the player told Naijaligue.blogspot.com.
Okonkwo is one of the defenders named by Nigeria head coach, Samson Siasia for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations against Madagascar at the Mahamasina Stadium in Antananarivo on Sunday.
