Gwar at crossroads over future

By Ojeikere Aikhoje

Niger Tornadoes forward, Sibi Gwar (pictured), has told SuperSport.com that he's undecided about his future with the NPL side after rejecting a return to Kwara United.

The forward, who scored 17 goals at Niger Tornadoes was linked with their Ilorin rivals, but he didn't agree personal terms with the club.

Gwar missed Saturday's 0-2 defeat at Sharks and is also not available for Wednesday's road trip at Ocean Boys.

SuperSport.com learnt that the forward has since returned to Minna to consider other options available.

"I have a meeting with the Niger State Commissioner for Sports on Tuesday. I might decide to stay with Tornadoes, if they are ready to pay me.

"However, I might head for Kano Pillars, since the club still wants me," he told SuperSport.com.

Gwar's performance in the first round of the league has made him a target of Pillars boss, Baba Ganaru, who wants to fortify his squad for the impending title race in the second round.

The former Kwara United and Enyimba star joined Tornadoes during the mid-season break last term and became a instant success at the club.
