3SC surrender unbeaten streak

3SC's impressive run of five unbeaten games was brought to a halt on Thursday by new boys, Rising Stars.

Rising Stars won the rescheduled Nigeria Premier League (NPL) game by 1-0 through Yahaya Adamu's goal at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado-Ekiti.

Adamu, who ended the unbeaten streak of 3SC told SuperSport.com: "I'm very happy to be the man to end their unbeaten run. They are a big team but we gave our best and we won and I believe this will help us to battle against relegation."

Rising Stars remain second from bottom on 29 points despite the win while 3SC stay on 40 points.

Title-chasers, Dolphins and Kano Pillars scored four goals each against Kwara United and Wikki Tourists respectively.

Nasiru Ali, Gambo Mohammed, Eugene Obi and Usman Abba got the goals for Kano Pillars against the Tourists that ensured they are now second on 46 points and edge Enyimba by goals difference.

Champions Dolphins moved into fourth place after a 4-1 win over Kwara United in Port Harcourt.

Ifeanyi Egwim got a double with the other goals coming from Emem Eduok and Omoh Ojabu while Emeka Nwanna scored for Kwara United.

In spite of a one-nil loss to Kaduna United, Enugu Rangers still remain top on 46 points - same as Kano Pillars and Enyimba.

In Minna, Sibi Gwar converted a spot kick to score his 12th goal of the season for Niger Tornadoes and Benedict Atule got the second to hand Justin Tenger's team a 2-0 win over Gombe United.

Tornadoes are now on 39 points, which has eased their relegation worries.

Enyimba also failed to avoid defeat as Kola Anubi's 36th minute goal was enough to earn Sharks the points and ensured they climbed to fifth spot on 45 points.

ABS held Heartland to a 1-1 draw in Ilorin while Bala Mohammed made sure that Jigawa Golden Stars stretched their unbeaten run to five with a 1-0 win over Akwa United.

Warri Wolves dropped out of the top four after losing 1-2 in Katsina-Ala to Lobi Stars.
