Centre-back Gwarza Iorliam has assured that Niger Tornadoes will remain in the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) at the end of this season.
He told SuperSport.com that his side's recent 3-1 win over Kwara United shows they are ready to beat the drop.
"We have played ourselves into a good position to survive relegation. The win against Kwara United on Wednesday was good for us as we will continue to push to keep our place in the Premier League.
"I can't imagine Tornadoes going on relegation. It will be a minus for us, the players and officials, if we are relegated. This is not what the fans want so we will continue to give our best till the last day of the season," Iorliam said.
Niger Tornadoes will confront Lobi Stars, Enyimba, Dolphins and Jigawa Golden Stars in their last four games and Iorliam believes they can stun the big guns.
"It is football. Yes the games against Enyimba and Dolphins will be tough, same goes for the ones against Lobi and Jigawa Stars. But we want to do our best so that Tornadoes will remain in the Premier League," the centre-half said to SuperSport.com.
Niger Tornadoes are now placed 14th in the NPL standings on 46 points.
