In spite of the gunshot incident that marred the Kano Pillars versus Heartland game on Wednesday, nine other games went on as scheduled and produced 20 goals.

The top four remained unchanged as Kano Pillars continue to stay top. Here's a round up of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) games that took place on Wednesday and Thursday.

Akwa United 2 – 2 ABS

ABS were two goals up inside the quarter of an hour via Akeem Audu and Abdulrahman Bashir as Akwa United conceded their first goals at home this term leaving their 100 per cent home run threatened.

Just on the stroke of the break, ABS had a 90-seconds spell of madness when James Atamba and Sharafa Usman levelled the score. Usman's strike already looked goal-bound stood in spite of a touch by Ukeme Davis who was clearly in an offside position.

Akwa United thought they had wrapped up the game in the business end when the impressive Ubong Ekpai bundled in the ball from a scramble but the goal was chalked off. ABS remain in the bottom four.

El-Kanemi Warriors 2 – 0 3SC

The Warriors won this game through their aerial strength with Bukar Bamai and Haruna Babalo scoring headed goals to see off 3SC. The Ibadan club drop from fourth to fifth place on the log and are still without a point in their road trips.

Wikki Tourists 1 – 1 Sharks

Despite the 1-1 outcome in Bauchi, Sharks still remain bottom of the standings. Abraham Okereke's strike on 37 minutes put Sharks in front before Tunde Aremu drew the hosts level from the spot 11 minutes into the restart. Wikki are still fourth from bottom.

Kwara United 2 – 0 Nembe City

Nembe City executed their game-plan to the letter in the opening half. In the second half, goals from Kabiru Sanusi and Najeem Olukokun in the space of 11 minutes ended their resistance and made the points safe for Kwara United who move into the top six.

Gombe United 1 – 0 Enyimba

The Savannah Scorpions added more misery to Enyimba's campaign this term by holding out for a one-goal win after Cyril Obodo scored on 21 minutes. Enyimba are yet to hit double figures as they are on nine points and sit outside of the top half of the standings.

Bayelsa United 1 – 0 Sunshine Stars

Terkimbi Akosu's 20-yard goal proved to just be enough for former champions, Bayelsa United, to claim the full points off Sunshine Stars. Bayelsa United move into the top five and the Akure Gunners remain third on the table.

Lobi Stars 2 – 1 Enugu Rangers

As expected, Katsina-Ala for the second consecutive season proved an unhappy ground for Rangers as they lost 1-2 to Lobi Stars. Chimaobi Nwaogu and Stephen Eze scored for Lobi before Dada Bitrus netted late as the hosts held on for the points.

Dolphins 3 – 0 Nasarawa United

Kaduna United 1 – 1 Warri Wolves
