Sharks left-back, Adeyinka Adedeji (pictured), has said he is aiming to help the Port Harcourt club avoid relegation in the Glo Nigeria Premier League and do well in this year's Federation Cup.
The
Blue Angels face Delta club, Julius Atete FC, in the round of 32 in the Cup and
Adedeji has warned their opponents that they should not dream of securing an
upset when both sides clash in Abakaliki.
"Upset?
What upset? And in whose dreams?" the former under-20 defender began in
rhetorics.
"Seriously
I believe they are dreaming. Sharks won't just go into that game thinking it
will be a stroll. We are aware of what happens in Cup games so our opponents
shouldn't think we will treat them with disrespect even if they are not in the
professional ranks."
Adedeji
quickly took a look at the Blue Angels' chance of beating the drop in the top
flight and reckons it is achievable.
But
the defender made it clear that Sharks are certain of edging his former clubs,
3SC and Sunshine Stars, for the full points when they meet.
Sharks
will face 3SC and Sunshine Stars in Premier League games in September.
"We
won't be relegated. No soldier goes to war and tell you before the fight that
he is going there to lose. At least I am sure of points against 3SC and Sunshine
Stars," said Adedeji.
Sharks
are currently bottom of the Premier League with 23 points.
