Gombe duo make The Predictor’s XI

The pair of Asuquo Inyang and Bilyaminu Aliyu are my star performers after the Matchday 27 games in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Inyang, who joined Gombe United from Nembe City during the Week Nine transfer window, was a handful for Nasarawa United.

The winger ran the Solid Miners' defence ragged and his crosses caused a nuisance. One of such crosses was put away by Aliyu for Gombe United's opening goal.

Youngster Aliyu, signed from Yarma Light Academy, put up an eye-catching display as an offensive midfielder. He then capped up his performance on the day with a goal.

For the second time this season, 3SC goalkeeper, Dele Ajiboye, is my preferred choice between the sticks. He made my team of the week on Matchday Two but a long injury layoff meant he stayed on the sidelines.

The former under-17 and under-23 goalkeeper was outstanding in goal for 3SC against Akwa United with his saves and command of his area until Ukeme Davies' goal.

My back four include Adamu Murtala, Okechukwu Odita, Festus Austine and Musa Yawale while the duo of Anthony Abawula and the impressive Ndubuisi Ekwuruibe join my picks of the matchday, Aliyu and Inyang in midfielder.

Gambo Mohammed and Alaba Johnson complete my team of the matchday as forwards.

My coach of the week goes to Sharks gaffer, Gbenga Ogunbote. His team were just 17 minutes away from pulling off a result at Kano Pillars before Gambo broke their hearts.
