Akwa
United attacking midfielder, Emmanuel Enize, is confident his teammate, Mfon
Udoh (pictured kneeling first from left), can become the first player to score against Enyimba in Aba this season.
Six-time
Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions are on a streak of clean
sheets in 16 home games.
The
last time the People's Elephant conceded at home in a league game was 20 home
matches ago on June 10, 2012 when Dele Olorundare scored for Sunshine Stars.
But
Enize believes in-form Udoh, who has netted 13 times this season, is capable of
breaching Enyimba's defence for the first time this season.
"We
have one of the best strikers in the league in Mfon Udoh and with my assist I
believe we can score anywhere and even in Aba too.
"He
(Udoh) is currently one of the leading scorers in the league, so we will do all
we can to end that (Enyimba) record," Enize, who joined Akwa United from
Bayelsa United, told Naijaligue.blogspot.com.
Interestingly
Udoh has scored five of his 13 goals this season on the road against four
former league champions, Enugu Rangers, Bayelsa United, Dolphins and 3SC.
His
fifth goal was at Kaduna United.
Akwa
United face Enyimba, who are also former league champions this Wednesday in Aba
and the match is live on SuperSport 9 and SuperSport Select from 4pm local
time.
