Crocodiles overcome FC Taraba

Kaduna United got their first win of the Glo Premier League season when they defeated FC Taraba 3-1 at the Kaduna Township Stadium on Thursday.

FC Taraba head coach, Ndubuisi Nduka, named three former Kaduna United in his side for this game with Richard Ocheayi being the only one on the start list while Abdulmalik Mohammed and Fidelis Saviour started from the bench.

It did not take long for the first goal of the game to be recorded as midfielder Isa Aminu put the Crocodiles ahead in the 12th minute.

Kaduna United should have doubled the lead minutes later and Ali Adamu crashed his effort against the woodwork with Ocheayi well-beaten.

On 28 minutes, former Lobi Stars player, Luther Iyorhe, put FC Taraba on level terms.

The midfielder calmly controlled the ball on his chest to finish off Usman Mohammed's free kick.

The score remained even at 1-1 and into the break with FC Taraba being the happier of the two teams.

Just over an hour into the match, Ibrahim Sanusi Sisi got the noses of Kaduna United in front and from that point it was cruise control for the hosts.

With 20 minutes left to play, FC Taraba caved in and conceded a third goal scored by Siman Yusuf [pictured].

Though Nduka had earlier sent on Saviour, the change could not save his team from falling out-of-sorts in the last 15 minutes.

Siman should have scored his second of the day but failed to convert from close range.

The win gives Kaduna United three points and ensures they even their goal difference after the 0-2 loss at Abia Warriors on the opening day of the season.
