Owner of Giwa FC, Ambassador Chris Giwa, explained that Ikhana informed him that his family do not want him to stay in the north.
But the Giwa FC boss was tight-lipped on making further comment on hearing that Ikhana has joined Enyimba.
"The only thing I know is that he (Ikhana) initially sent me a text message saying his family don't want him to stay in the north. That was all. Few days later he called to explain the same thing and I told him to respect his family's wishes so that he doesn't have problems with his loved ones.
"I personally hold the institution of family important and won't go against the wishes of anyone's family. Since his family are not comfortable with him working in the north, the decision rests with him and his family," Giwa told Naijaligue.blogspot.com.
Giwa FC have immediately filled the vacant head coach role by hiring Duke Udi.
Naijaligue.blogspot.com had last month reported that Udi was among favourites to land the head coach job at Giwa FC before Ikhana was appointed.
Udi is now saddled with helping the Jos club stay in the Glo Premier League in their debut season but he starts his managerial career in the top flight with a Federation Cup round of 64 game against National League side, ABS in July.
