Striker Morenikeji Akanbi will take no part in 3SC's Week 17 game in the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) against Kwara United on Wednesday.
Akanbi has been left out of the 3SC squad following a knock he suffered in the club's 0-2 loss at Kaduna United last Sunday.
It was hoped that the teenage striker will shake off the knock and be fit for Kwara United but after a test on Tuesday he was left out of the team entirely.
The former Nigerian Under17 striker will now be out for at least five to seven days.
Akanbi told Naijaligue.blogspot.com: "I sustained a slight injury on my knee in the game against Kaduna United. I was hoping to be ready for the game against Kwara United on Wednesday but the doctor told me I will have to stay away for five, six or seven days to allow it heal."
He is hoping his teammates do well by defeating Kwara United to help 3SC out of the bottom four in the Premier League standings.
Akanbi joined 3SC from rivals, Crown FC at the start of this season.
