Attacking midfielder Thomas Zenke was the saving grace for ABS FC in their Matchday 13 game in the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) against Kano Pillars on Sunday.
Playing behind closed doors at the Ilorin Township Stadium, ABS FC fell behind on 13 minutes when Nasir Ali pounced on a rare defensive error by the dependable Fade Adebayo to put Kano Pillars in front.
The lead of Baba Ganaru's men lasted just four minutes as Yau Hassan scored from the spot for ABS to draw level.
Two minutes to half time, it was the impressive Rabiu Ali that restored Kano Pillars' lead to send the game into the break with the visiting team leading 1-2.
ABS caretaker head coach, Kabir Sulaiman Dogo, decided to throw in one of his new men, Zenke and it paid off.
A cross from the left channel by Abubakar Yusuf was finished off with a fierce shot by Zenke on 75 minutes.
Dogo told Naijaligue.blogspot.com that though he did not plan to drop points at home but will accept the share of the spoils.
"We are disappointed not to have taken the points. But it's better than to lose all points," he said after the game.
ABS are now on 12 points from 12 points while Kano Pillars have taken 19 points from 36.
