Rangers stretch unbeaten streak

Table-topping Enugu Rangers extended their unbeaten run in the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) on Saturday after a 1-1 draw at Niger Tornadoes.

The Flying Antelopes are now unbeaten in eight games this season.

Super Eagles' winger, Ejike Uzoenyi, whose 25-yard volley put Rangers in front inside 30 minutes of the game, told SuperSport.com that he is happy with his side's run and wants to keep it going.

Sibi Gwar drew Tornadoes level before half time to deny the Flying Antelopes the chance of a second away win this term.

Uzoenyi was in his imperious best at the Bako Kontagora Stadium in Minna as he ran Tornadoes backline ragged and the petite winger said he wants to churn out such performances for Okey Emordi's squad week in, week out.

"I'm very happy that we gave our best in that game and did not lose which is important. It was good to have scored and help the team win a point in a difficult place like Minna.

"Personally, it was a very good outing for me and that's the kind of performance I want to put in every week for Rangers and hopefully I pray that it will pay off at the end of the season," said the former Gateway FC man.

Rangers last lost a game in the NPL on January 29 in Port Harcourt to champions Dolphins.

Emordi's men are currently top of the NPL standings with 23 points from 12 games and it will be their third consecutive week at the summit.
