Bayelsa United defender, Chibuzor Okonkwo, has debunked any claim that he has decided to pitch tent with another Nigeria Premier League (NPL) club after refusing to play for the Nigerian champion again.
Okonkwo, who has trained with the Super Eagles on several occasions, said he is looking forward to sealing a deal in Europe before the transfer window closes by the end of this month.
“I have not signed to play for any club in Nigeria. I don’t know anything about that,” said Okonkwo.
The Bayelsa United full-back has decided to stay away from the camp of the Nigerian champion after the club failed to pay him his arrears of signing-on fees for the immediate past season.
