When our correspondent called the attention of Gateway Football Club to reports that its head coach, Gbenga Ogunbote, was on the radar of another Premier League club, Sunshine Stars, it was denied. But the coach has now moved to the same club and officials of Gateway FC has alleged that he tried to poach eight of its best players and assistant coach, Loveday Omoruyi, who has now been handed the head coach role at the club for the coming season. It was also learnt that Gateway FC’s anger was that the management had brokered a deal for Ogunbote to join Warri Wolves as one of its assistants in a deal believed to be higher in cash than that he got at Sunshine Stars. The former Gateway FC head coach would assist Justin Tenger at Sunshine Stars next term.
