The management of Kano Pillars and its Slovenian head coach, Ivan Sajh, may have agreed to settle their differences after a media war broke out between the two over the failure to secure a visa for the wife of the coach.
After the initial threat of giving the club and its management a deadline that expired last Friday to get his wife, who is based in Russia a visa or he would dump the side.
Spokesman for the club, Shehu Adamu, said the club’s continental committee chairman, Ibrahim Galadima, verified the statement of Sajh as quoted in the newspapers across the country with the coach himself and the Slovenian offered that he was desperate to get his wife a visa to join him in Nigeria.
Shehu also claimed that Sajh apologised to the club for the embarrassment and has declared that he is ready to work with the side to ensure that his wife joins him in Nigeria.
“What happened was not a fight as it is being reported. It is just a bit of a misunderstanding from the part of the coach. What the coach did was to try and draw the attention of the media to his plight, which we are concerned about. He spoke with the continental committee chairman and after his statement was verified, he apologised for causing the club such an embarrassment during the week,” said Adamu.
The club has told Sajh to make his marriage certificate available as demanded by the Nigerian embassy and the Nigeria Immigration in order to secure a visa for his wife in Russia.
It is believed that the Slovenian handler has agreed to make the marriage document available.
