Glo League Day 1 Opens With 15 Goals

Warri Wolves made a storming start to their second season in the Nigerian top flight, handing out a 5-0 lesson to Zamfara United on the opening day of the Globacom Premier League on Sunday.

A brace from Ejike Orji was followed by further goals from Fegor Ogude, Oke Akpoveta and Ebuka Okafor.

Former champions Enyimba dropped their first points of the campaign at home, failing to score in a stormy 0-0 draw with a rejuvenated Lobi Stars.

Lobi's former Enyimba captain Sam Ledor was sent off on 67 minutes. He was followed six minutes later by Enyimba full back Ofem Inah.

In Port Harcourt, Dolphins failed to hold on to Salisu Yusuf's 28th minute lead and George Amakiri stunned the home crowd on 80 minutes to draw Ocean Boys level.

Alphonsus Dike's reign at Rangers opened with a 2-1 defeat at Sunshine Stars. Akin Anifowoshe after just 46 seconds and Sunday Adeyemi on 76 minutes gave the home side a 2-0 lead before Andrew Nwordu scored a late consolation for the Flying Antelopes with five minutes to go.

In the week's live televised game, Gbenga Ogunbote travelled to Gateway, the club he left in the off-season and claimed a zesty one point with his new charges from Kwara United in a 1-1 draw.

Rounding up the weekend, was Wikki Tourists, who beat Kaduna United 2-1 in Bauchi.
