Kwara Utd Ready For New Campaign - Tenger

Head coach of Kwara United, Justin Tenger, believes that his side is ready for the challenge of top-flight professional league football in Nigeria when the new season begins this weekend across the country.
Tenger told naijaligue.blogspot.com that after camping his side in Offa, which is 40 kilometres from its Ilorin base, for a few weeks of pre-season training he is confident that he has a team that can compete in the Globacom Premier League this season.
Kwara United opens its quest for a first-ever title in the Premier League with a trip to Abeokuta to face Gateway Football Club.
Already, Tenger’s men showed its intent during a pre-season match at the Ilorin Township Stadium when it defeated fellow Premier League newcomer, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), by 2-1.
But Tenger knows too well to be carried away by results from pre-season games and pointed out that his side would take every game in this campaign in its stride.
“That we won against Shooting Stars in a friendly does not mean we have arrived yet,” he began. “They (Shooting Stars) played very well in that game, but I think we had to show enough strength to win that game and I have told my players that is what they should expect in our matches this season in the Premier League because it is different from the Division I.”
Tenger is also banking on the recruitment of top Premier League campaigners such as Isiaka Olawale, Sibi Gwar, Benedict Atule and Johnson Olewezi among others to complement the efforts of the side he inherited from former coach of the club, John Obuh, now with the Golden Eaglets.
