Shooting Stars’ Idogbe Out For Four Weeks

Shooting Stars Sports Club’s (3SC) top scorer in the National Division I League last season, Timothy Idogbe, could face up to one month on the sideline after he sustained an eye injury in a pre-season friendly.
Team manager of the Ibadan club, Ajibade Babalade, explained to Naijaligue.blogspot.com that it is being estimated that the player may face up to four weeks from competitive football.
This means that Idogbe would miss the matches against Enyimba in Aba, Wikki Tourists in Ibadan, Sunshine Stars in Akure and when his side plays host to Kaduna United on November 18 this year.
Idogbe had to undergone an eye surgery after an opposing player of Gateway Football Club erroneously stuck his hand in his eyes during one of the tune-up games for the season.
“At the moment, Timothy (Idogbe) may not play for us for a month. He was injured during our friendly match against Gateway before the start of the season in the eye and just undergone a surgery. So we are estimating that he will not return until after a month,” he disclosed after Shooting Stars forced Dolphins Football Club to a 1-1 draw at the Liberty Stadium in Ibadan in a Week Two encounter.
Ajibade believes that in the absence of Idogbe other strikers such as Akeem Adebisi, Akeem Adebisi, Emmanuel Ikhimi and Meshack Chukwubuikem can fill the void left the injured free-scoring forward.
The injured striker was spotted at the Jericho secretariat of Shooting Stars during the unveiling of the club’s players last Friday wearing a sunglasses to avoid being embarrassed with questions on the condition of his eye.
But he told our correspondent that he feels better after undergoing an eye surgery.
“I am getting better now and I hope I will back soon to play in the Premier League because that is my dream,” he said.
